A Vision of Data Integration
The vision of Data Compatibility Methods is that compatible databases be designed so that data from any compatible database may be dynamically joined to data from any other compatible database. Data compatibility methods are a simple enhancement of established data modeling methods that now focuses upon integrating data among a set of databases as well as joining data within a single database. Again, the data joins that may occur within the set of compatible databases would ultimately be determined by the data set values that actually populate these compatible databases.
Interestingly, not only transactional databases are compatible with Data Integration by Design methods. Compatible Master Data Management (MDM) databases as well as compatible data warehouses and compatible data marts may be included into the set of compatible databases. The vision of Data Integration by Design is where all databases may be designed to function in harmony to provide a more efficient and cost effective data architecture for any organization.
